The Sealyham Terrier Club Championship Show 19th April 2026

I was honoured to judge Sealyham Terriers at this breed club show, the first time awarding CC’s in the breed. I thank the exhibitors for supporting me and giving me the chance to judge their quality dogs and to the efficient steward on the day.

Special Trier Dog/Bitch (2,1) 1st Doble’s Luke Skywalker of Kindergarten (imp Hun) – smart 2 year old neutered dog of good type, lovely profile and balanced in outline, pleasing head, ears and expression, good front into firm level topline and correct tailset, well presented and moved true

MPD(0) PD(0) JD(1,0) 1st Bettis’ Ch Whooperhill Sand Dollar With Ornella JW – impressive dog of nearly 18 months, well balanced all through and of lovely proportions, masculine head with strong jaw, muscular neck and well developed through the body, firm topline, strong well angulated hindquarters, superbly presented, moved effortlessly with drive RCC

ND(2,0) 1st Crang’s Whooperhill Sand Castle – well built 18 month dog with good bone and substance, heavily marked head with attractive expression, strong muscular neck into well laid shoulders, good proportions to body with correct tailset, nicely handled and presented, moved well with drive 2nd Doble’s Luke Skywalker of Kindergarten (imp Hun) – as per Special Trier

PGD(4,1) 1st Mantle, Pawson & Inman-Lee’s Afterglow’s Golden Ticket (Imp USA) – well presented 2 year old of good size, balanced all through with appealing head and expression, well laid shoulders, good length of neck and firm topline, correct tailset, moved with drive and precision 2nd Salmon’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Of Kindergarten at Seasmolt (Imp Hun) – handsome 2 year old of good breed type, lovely head with strong muzzle, straight front, level topline, harsh coat texture and presented to advantage, still maturing, close decision, moved well 3rd Ashley-Smith’s Marcello Dei Figli Di Paparott(Imp ITA)

LD (3,1) 1st Crang’s Lushell Gwyn Cariad – 5 year old of larger build and substance, well made all through, good head and expression with well placed ears, strong neck and body, well ribbed, needs to move with more drive 2nd Challenger’s Rowanrae Dream Come True – 4 year old handsome male of good breed type, unsettled on the table so unable to assess him fully, however has balanced head of good proportions and well placed ears, nice length of body and firm topline, moved ok

OD(5,2) 1st Bell’s Ch Zippor Sleepy Sapphireson at Letara – top quality well constructed 7 year old, so well balanced and full of breed type with classic outline, plenty of strength to his head with beautiful expression and strong muzzle, correct front and shoulders, well ribbed, strong level topline and plenty behind the tail, beautifully presented harsh jacket and in excellent condition, powerful mover with reach and drive, I’ve thought highly of him in the past and he still impresses me today, love him DCC, RBIS, BVIS 2nd Bettis’ Ch Ornella King Midas JW – worthy champion of nearly 3 years, loved his head and expression, good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders, well ribbed, strong topline, muscular hindquarters and correct tailset, very well presented harsh wiry coat, sound accurate mover with reach and drive 3rd Ashley-Smith’s Zippor Skye Fawkes

VD(1,0) 1st Evans’ Ch Nileda Our Mutual Friend – quality 9 year old dog of lovely type, in immaculate condition and belies his age, lovely head and ears, excellent teeth and bite, good neck and shoulders, well ribbed, nicely constructed all through and very well presented with super coat and furnishings, moved well

MPB(0) PB(1,0) 1st Oulton & Coetzee’s Whooperhill Love Story – charming 9 month old puppy, with beautiful outline showing her excellent construction, lovely feminine head giving sweet expression, harsh coat coming through, she moved and showed well with style and confidence, still needing to mature but an exciting prospect BPB,BPIS

NB(0) PGB(1,0) 1st Jones’ Polly Flanders – attractive 3 year old of correct size, feminine head and neat ears giving good expression, well laid shoulders into level topline and correct tailset, harsh coat of correct texture, outgoing friendly temperament, moved well both ways

OB(5,3) 1st Oulton & Coetzee’s Am Ch Whooperhill American Celebration (Imp USA) –top quality 5 year old bitch, loved her head and expression, good length of neck, well laid shoulders and correct outline with depth and substance in body, excellent presentation and handling, showing herself off to advantage, I thought she looked a picture today, moved with ease BCC,BIS

2nd Bell’s Ch Whooperhill Serendipity For Letara JW – smart and balanced bitch with substance of almost 3 years, nicely proportioned head with well set ears, lovely neck and shoulders, excellent depth of chest into well sprung ribs, perfect topline, correct tailset, harsh well presented coat, moved briskly with confidence and drive RCC

VB(1,0) 1st Trezise Dundas’ Firstwish Ara – charming 9 year old of classic type, in excellent coat and condition, feminine and well balanced with good proportions through the body, pleasing head and expression, firm topline and well angulated rear with good tailset, just needs to move with more drive today

JHA 6-11 years (1) 1st Annabelle Jones – presented her dog with kindness and gentle handling, following instructions and showing her dog off to the best of her ability, needs more practice with some of the finer details, but has potential to do well
