Dogs of the Past
At the first meeting of the Sealyham Terrier Club, two Terriers were placed on the tables, as models, to form the Standard of Points. The dog was "Tinker the Club"(afterwards Peer Gynt) and the bitch was "Nellie the Mariners". It can be proved that the two foundation dog and bitch of the breed are Peer Gynt and Brenhines Fach. These two were the sire and dam of Ch.Dandy Basgm the sire of Ch. Chawston Whiskey Bach.
DOGS WHICH GREATLY INFLUENCED THE SEALYHAM TERRIERS AS WE KNOW THEM TODAY
This is a small selection from the Royal Kennel Club Stud books who compiled a list of champions of the breed, taken from the first year they were on the Royal Kennel Club championship register, i.e 1911.
Ch. St. Bride's Demon was the first Sealyham Terrier to qualify as a champion, since when, up to the end of 1937, there have been one hundred and eighty-seven champions: ninety-two dogs, and ninety-five bitches.
